I have worked with Novus Mechanical a few times now and recommend them to my neighbors. The owner is responsive, knowledgeable, fair and works clean. I have used Alex to install a completely new HVAC system, to help me figure out why it was so hot in one room in my apt compared to others and to understand my options for adding AC to an old house I am buying. Each time, he was easy to contact, was prompt with his site visits and proposals, was reasonably priced and completed the work when/how he said he would.
Alex and Novus is what I have been looking for! I didn't want someone to come and tell me things that wouldn't solve my problem. I wanted real data and science to show the actual issue. He came and measured the static pressure in both of my furnaces — we planned out how to best address the issues, I got estimates quickly, install shortly after. Alex and his team are the best HVAC service we have used, period. Our central AC unit stopped working one night during a heat wave, and they were there right away the next morning to diagnose, and the new compressor was installed 48 hours later. One theme runs through the reviews above: real testing, not a guess. Here is what that kind of testing actually found on one Manalapan job, unrelated to any specific homeowner quoted on this page. Three companies had already quoted the same fix for a failing system: swap the condenser and furnace, nothing else, with no testing of any kind. We ran a static pressure test first and it read 0.933 in. w.c., well past the normal range of 0.2 to 0.7 in. w.c., even though the equipment itself was sized right for the house. The real problem was undersized ductwork and oversized refrigerant lines. We fixed the ducts, replaced the lines, and installed a heat pump with the existing furnace kept as backup. The finished system scored 100%, A+, on MeasureQuick, and static pressure came down to 0.49 in. w.c. That is the kind of number a homeowner never sees on paper, only on a report. On the hottest day of the summer, I awoke to a broken air conditioner. I called Alex at Novus Mechanical and responded very quickly. He arrived late afternoon and diagnosed and repaired the problem quickly. We were so relieved and appreciative. He saved the day! Great Service!

Very fast response to a broken gas furnace in the middle of winter. Alex was able to immediately diagnose the problem and install a temporary switch to get us up and running. He ordered a new one and when it arrived in a few days, he scheduled the install the next day. Amazing fast and professional service! Highly recommend!
I had an awful smell coming from my AC unit when I turned it on for the season. It is a newer unit installed about 3 yrs ago by a contractor other than Novus. I called the original contractor to check the unit and he could not find the source of the awful smell. I then reached out to Novus. Alex responded immediately. He came out and took the cover off to expose the coils. He cleaned the coils and the awful smell was gone! Alex was kind, understanding of the problem, efficient and even checked up on me with a text to make sure the smell was completely gone and that I was satisfied. I will absolutely call Novus Mechanical again for any HVAC needs!
Alex was great ! He was professional , knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem with our HVAC system which turned out to be a stuck damper. I would highly recommended his services to anyone who is looking to troubleshoot their HVAC system. Going forward Novus will always be my first call for any HVAC issue !
